La Bandai ha esposto nel suo nuovo store situato nell’edificio Hulic & New Akihabara nel quartiere Chiyoda-ku di Tokyo aperto ufficialmente il 27 Aprile 2019 , il nuovo Gundam Astray Red Dragon X . E’ un Mobile Suit tratto da Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny Astray R (機動 戦 士 ガ ン ダ ム SEED DESTINY ASTRAY R) una  side-story pubblicata insieme a Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny Astray B per celebrare il Remastering HD della serie anime di  Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny . Nello specifico è una versione potenziata dell’  MBF-P02 Gundam Astray Red Dragon  . E’ stato annunciato ed esposto in anteprima  durante il Gundam Figures Live ! , un evento online che si è svolto oggi 28 Luglio 2021 dove il colosso nipponico ha presentato tutte le novità Gundam della linea Metal Build , Metal Robot Spirits e The Robot Spirits .
